Dedicated adventurers in the Elder Scrolls Online will be receiving a forthcoming update that will enable changes to appearance and race, which is quite a big new feature for players who are already deeply invested in their characters but interested in a cosmetic and/or racial do-over. We now have some details regarding how players makes these changes and how much they will cost.
Appearance Change Tokenswill now permit the total alteration of appearance, including but not limited to hair styles and colors, adornments, face and body markings, facial features, eye color, age, body and face shape, as well as voice and gender. One of these tokens can be purchased for 1000 crowns from the Crown Store.
Race Change Tokens do everything the Appearance Change Tokens do, but add the option to change one character’s race to one available for that character and account. If you have the Explorer’s Pack you will be able to choose any race from any alliance. If not, you can choose any race from your chosen alliance. One of these tokens can be purchased from the Crown Store for 3000 crowns.

Tokens can only be used from the Character Select menu. When you click a token to use it, you’ll be taken to the game’s Style Parlor to make the changes you desire, but changes aren’t complete until you confirm it, allowing you to back out if you’ve had a change of heart.
You will also be able to purchase a Name Change token, to, you guessed it, change your name! These tokens can be purchased for 2500 crowns. If PwnUSoH4rdN00bzY0l0Sw4g doesn’t quite fit the Tamriel setting for you anymore, this is your chance to choose something a little more elegant. Maybe now you’ll actually find friends to do dungeons with.

The Style Parlor also gives you some choices for changing hair style, adornments, and markings as often as you like with items you have purchased, which can be accessed from your Collections menu under Appearance. These can all be used with many of your existing collectibles which is a nice touch. These will be lower priced items, starting at around 200 crowns and will vary in nature, with more to be added down the road. For players interested in taking advantage of several of these options right out of the gate, there will be several bundles offered to allow for some savings.
Players with active ESO Plus memberships can customize equipped costumes and hats at any Dye Station in the game, using the clothing dyes you've unlocked by completing in-game Achievements. Dyed costumes and hats are saved individually for each of your characters, so the same piece can have a different appearance for each of your characters. These new features along with costume dyeing and a base game patch will all be included in Update 11 which release in conjunction with the Shadows of the Hist DLC. The content reaches PC on August 1st, and PS4 and Xbox One on August 16th. There are few things an MMO player likes more than options for customization, and this update looks poised to deliver on that front. Planning on doing a new you? Let us know what you’ll be tweaking in the comments.
